Dems worried Harris's 'sugar high' is finished

Democrat strategists have admitted to being extremely worried about Vice President Kamala Harris's chances in the 2024 presidential election.

One strategist, according to Fox News, even admitted that he is "scared to death."

Of course, what the strategists are scared of is the prospect of another term for former President Donald Trump.

Apparently, the signs are suggesting that it is looking more and more as though a Trump victory is going to come to fruition.

"I'm scared to death"

The Democrat strategist quoted above is James Carville.

In was on Wednesday, during an appearance on MSNBC, that he said, "The only thing I feel is the election is coming Nov. 5th. I’m scared to death. I’m very, very concerned."

According to Just the News:

Carville's warnings come amid signs that the race is tilting towards former President Donald Trump, with a host of polls suggesting he could sweep key swing states and potentially take the popular vote as well.

This is why Carville, and others, suggested that Harris, the Democratic Party's presidential nominee, needs to take "aggressive" action to try to flip the script so she does not get wiped out in the election.

Carville, for his part, argued that Harris ought to do more campaign events during which she could attempt to control the political narrative - rather than the more passive approach that she and her campaign have been taking.

"You're not paying attention"

As mentioned earlier, Carville is not the only Democratic strategist to express concern about Harris's chances against Trump in the 2024 election.

Political consultant Anthony Coley, who used to be a staffer for former President Barack Obama, said, "Now that the sugar high is gone, people have realized what Kamala Harris has said from the start, which is that she is the underdog."

Similarly, Jamal Simmons, a former communications director for Harris, said, "If you’re not nervous, you’re not paying attention."

Even David Axelrod, the man well-known for helping to lead Obama to victory in the 2008 presidential election, admitted that, although "Harris had a great launch, right through the convention and the debate . . . the race has plateaued."

The most recent polling does indeed suggest that the election is swinging in Trump's favor. While in some polling Trump has taken the outright lead over Harris, in other polling Harris has lost a significant part of the lead that she once had on Trump. In short, it's all looking bad for Harris and good for Trump.
