Harris Drilled on Getting Policy Through Congress in ’60 Minutes’ Interview
We are quickly learning why Kamala Harris does not do hard interviews.
While doing mostly late-night TV and podcasts, Harris stepped up to do an interview on “60 Minutes.”
And while the interview that aired on the show appears to have been heavily edited, she was pressed at times, and she failed miserably.
Real World
Harris was asked about her economic plan, and she responded with her usual word salad.
She stated, “My plan is about saying that when you invest in small businesses, you invest in the middle class, and you strengthen America's economy. Small businesses are part of the backbone of America's economy.”
CBS News’ Bill Whitacker, who was doing the interview, continued to press her on how she would pay for all this.
Harris responded, “I'm going to make sure that the richest among us who can afford it, pay their fair share in taxes. It is not right that teachers and nurses and firefighters are paying a higher tax rate than billionaires and the biggest corporations. And I plan on making that fair.”
For the record, the top 1% in this country pay more than 40% of all taxes paid, so I am not sure how much more you are going to get out of them.
Whitaker called her out for the word salad again, telling her, “But we’re dealing with the real world here.”
The fact of the matter is these are all empty promises because Congress has to pass her agenda, and there is no way she will have the numbers to get something like this passed.
Even so, Harris tried another word salad, stating, “You know, when you talk quietly with a lot of folks in Congress, they know exactly what I'm talking about, because their constituents know exactly what I'm talking about. Their constituents are those firefighters and teachers and nurses.”
Here is a snippet from the interview on this…
Pure and utter garbage, with no real answers.
At least she was pressed in this interview, though, unlike her recent interviews with ABC's “The View,” The Howard Stern Show, and Stephen Colbert's “The Late Show” on CBS.
Harris had another town hall this week on Univision, but again, I would bet she will not be pressed very hard.
She has no real answers, which is why she is not doing real media.
