Carville offers bizarre assessment of Melania Trump's feelings about husband
The marriage of Donald and Melania Trump has long been the subject of all kinds of speculation from their friends and foes alike, but a whole new type of rumor about their relationship just emerged from a rather controversial source.
Longtime Clinton ally and Democratic Party strategist James Carville recently appeared in a video rant attempting to diagnose Mrs. Trump's take on her husband, ruminating about why, in his opinion, the “hates” her husband, suggesting that an issue with body odor is partly to blame, as Mediaite reports.
Ragin' cajun lets loose
Carville's riff came in a video created for Politicon, and in it, the outspoken commentator mused about why Melania Trump went public with her thoughts about the nude modeling she had done in the past.
In Carville's estimation, Mrs. Trump went down that road during the promotion of her recent memoir in order to “embarrass” Donald Trump because, he believes, she hates the former president.
According to Carville, Melania's antipathy to Donald can be chalked up to the fact that he “smells like sh*t.”
“One of the things that we know for sure is Donald John Trump stinks. In other words, he smells like sh*t. There's any number of people who have reported this to us and of course everybody heard him fart in the courtroom and we have extrapolated from that a belief that the reason he stinks so much is he farts and sh*ts in his pants or whatever,” Carville said in what was billed as a “blend of satire and scientific inquiry.”
The observations echo those of well-known Trump foe and former lawmaker Adam Kinzinger, who said on social media in December, “It's truly something to behold. Wear a mask if you can.”
Scurrilous speculation abounds
While Carville's take appeared to many to be an ill-advised and baseless attempt at comedy, he is not the only Trump critic who has offered an opinion on the state of the Trump marriage.
Just weeks ago, former Trump White House staffer Anthony Scaramucci -- whose tenure in the former president's administration lasted mere days -- opined that Mrs. Trump is secretly hoping that Kamala Harris wins the November election simply because she despises her own husband.
“I judge the hatred of Donald Trump by the Melania standard,” he said, adding, “My wife hates Trump as much as Melania.
According to Scaramucci, former General Mark Milley is the only individual he has encountered who hates Trump more than his own wife.
At a time when there are serious issues facing Americans who want and deserve answers and policy agendas designed to address them, it is sad indeed that folks like Carville and Scaramucci find it necessary to engage in this type of puerile and pointless dialogue with their followers.
