White House Press Corps Pushing Back on Lack of Access to Biden

On Thursday, the White House press corps led a full-fledged revolt in the briefing room.

Reports called out the White House for the lack of access to Biden at the little party he is throwing in Delaware.

Karine Jean-Pierre was tongue-tied trying to once again defend Biden’s avoidance of the media.

We Don’t Need You

That is more or less what this administration is telling the media.

Biden is holding a “Quad” meeting this weekend in Delaware with Australia, India, and Japan, but don’t expect a formal press conference.

KJP was trying to pacify the media for being invited to the event, stating, “It was important to him to do something that he hadn’t done before. Bring them to his home city … But there’s going to be plenty of opportunities. It’s not like we’re not allowing all of you to see many other things that are going to develop throughout the day.

“I mean, I just went through them. A ‘Quad’ family photo, he’s going to take them to his high school. You all are gonna be there. There’s going to be a very important announcement about Cancer Moonshot, you are all going to be there … Can you also appreciate that we have created other opportunities?”

Newsmax White House correspondent James Rosen interrupted, stating, “They’re called photo ops. That’s what you’ve created.

“They’re not a press conference, which we would prefer.”

CBS News senior White House correspondent Ed O’Keefe also pushed back, stating, “What I was going to suggest is, it baffles people in this room, especially people who are watching this and wondering why we harp on these kinds of things, what baffles us is this is a president who from day one committed to be the most transparent president possible, who has given speeches at various events saying that he stands for and respects the freedom of the press.

“And here is a great opportunity while standing with the leader from the world’s largest democracy, India, and two other key democracies who are from a region of the world who is struggling to maintain democracy. Why not face questions from reporters of the free press in that setting?”

While I appreciate the media finally pushing back on this, let’s face facts… the media has allowed this to go on for the last four years, so why would the administration change it now?

KJP sits at that podium and lies on an almost daily basis, and she is rarely, if ever, called out by the media for pushing debunked narratives.

Joe Biden hides in Delaware virtually every weekend, and the media acts happy when Biden answers a question when he is out on his bike.

They have also tolerated the fact that Harris has not had a formal press conference in the nearly two months since she was gifted the nomination by the Democrat Party.

The most transparent administration… what a joke!
