Greene and Musk Bite on False Bomb Threat at Trump Rally

Wednesday was another interesting day in the political world.

The fraudsters were out in force, putting out a rumor that a bomb threat had been made and explosives found in a car near Trump’s rally site.

The report was false, but Elon Musk and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) bit and posted them on X without waiting for confirmation.

Don’t Jump the Gun

This has not been a good two weeks for Republicans in terms of avoiding fake news stories.

The first one was a doozy, with Trump pushing the Haitians eating cats narrative that was helped along by Trump’s VP candidate, Senator JD Vance (R-OH).

Trump spewed the conspiracy during the debate with nothing to back it up, then proceeded to get torched by the media and Democrats afterward.

Fast-forward a week to a Trump rally in Long Island, and rumors started to fly in the early afternoon about an alleged bomb threat.

Posts were made showing police checking out a car near the rally site that was allegedly loaded with explosives.

All of it was a hoax, however.

The rumor got started when “journalist” James Lalino posted on X that his “Sources in the Nassau County Police Department just told me that ‘the perimeter was breached and a blue barrel was removed’ from the area surrounding tonight's Trump rally site.”

His report continued, "During K9, doing their checks, they found an explosive device in one of the vehicles and that driver ended up running into the woods. No one saw if he had anything on him, they just saw him take off running.

“A lot of cars are now parking, they’re lining up on Hempstead Turnpike, just parking on the grass. Even over at Eisenhower Park, they’re just parking over there.”

The report was a total lie, however, as the local PD responded, "We did respond to a suspicious occurrence in the vicinity of the Nassau Coliseum, however there was no validity of an explosive device being found. […] we're unsure where this information originated, but we can confirm that no explosives were discovered."

This is what happens when reporters don’t actually verify a story by an anonymous source.

Musk reposted the bogus story with a caption of “Wow,” and Greene did the same, with a caption stating, "THEY WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THEY KILL TRUMP!”

To her credit, Greene later admitted the report was false but added, “Everything must be taken seriously.”

Well, maybe just wait a few seconds to see if the report is true or not because with her reposting the story, she validated it, and there are now tens of thousands of Trump supporters with egg on their faces from liberals due to a pushing a hoax.
