FBI Received Tips in 2019 About Trump Assassin Owning a Firearm Illegally

It always astonishes me how much information comes out after the fact of a mass shooting and these latest assassination attempts against Donald Trump.

Every time we have a mass shooting, reports pop up about people who suspected or previous reports on the shooter that should have had authorities paying closer attention.

The same can now be said about the man who just tried to kill Donald Trump.

They Knew

Ryan Wesley Routh has been on the radar of the FBI since 2019.

It is now being reported that the FBI received a tip on Routh about him being in possession of a firearm even though he was a convicted felon.

At the time the report came in, Routh was living in Hawaii.

That report was confirmed by Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey Veltri.

The agency, however, stated that it was unable to verify the claim.

Veltri explained, “In following up on the tip, the alleged complainant was interviewed and did not verify providing the initial information.

“The FBI passed that information to local law enforcement in Honolulu.”

Routh was set up alongside the fence line of the 6th hole at Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach.

The weakness regarding the area where Routh set up was apparently known to Secret Service, but nothing was ever done to address the opening that offered a clear line of sight to the golf course.

When an agent spotted the muzzle of Routh’s weapon, it was unlikely that he had a clear line of sight to Trump on the 5th hole, but Trump would have passed right by him on the 6th, and he would have had a clear shot of Trump on the 7th green from his sniper’s nest.

All that aside, he was somehow able to get within 300 yards of a former president and current presidential candidate under Secret Service protection, so it would be nice to see how that happened.
