Date for Walz-Vance Debate Has Been Set

Senator JD Vance made it very clear that he wants to see Governor Tim Walz on the debate stage.

He put the ball in Walz’s court to pick a date and Walz has finally responded.

Vance and Walz are set to square off on October 1, a little more than a month before the election.

Let’s Do This…

Vance was hyping up the October 1 debate, but he also was critical of some of the requests from the first debate by Biden.

He stated, "Look, Laura, we're certainly going to debate Tim Walz. We just heard about this three hours ago.

“So we're going to talk to them and figure out when we can debate.

"I strongly suspect we're going to be there on Oct. 1, but we're not going to do one of these fake debates, Laura, where they don't actually have an audience there, where they don't actually set the parameters in a right way, where you can have a good exchange of ideas.”

I don’t necessarily agree with Vance on that.

I thought the debate between Trump and Biden went very well, and it clearly benefited Trump more than Biden. I don't know about you guys, but having candidates scream over each other is not my idea of a debate.

I did not agree with everything, but the cutting off of the microphones and no live audience seemed to make the debate run much smoother than the hideous GOP debate in the primary.

Vance then added, "In other words, we're not going to run and walk into a fake news media garbage debate.

"We're going to do a real debate, and if CBS agrees to it, certainly we'll do it."

Walz has already accepted the date, so I guess we will have to wait to see the rules released.

Honestly, at this point, Trump and Vance are paying catchup, so they need this debate more than the Democrats do, and they need them as quickly as possible.

As I noted before, Trump and Vance have to do something to stop the momentum of the Harris campaign, and getting them both on stage to hold them accountable is the best way to do that.
