Walz Called Out Over Claims of Serving in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan

Democrat VP nominee Tim Walz has yet another claim of stolen valor against him.

The first claim was for Walz having stated in his bio that he retired as a Command Sergeant Major, which is not true.

Now he is being called out for claiming to have participated in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Semantics

From my perspective, it would seem that Walz is using very carefully worded phrases to give his military career more punch.

According to Army records, Walz never served in an active combat zone.

And while he was deployed overseas, he was never deployed to Afghanistan.

There was also a photo of Walz protesting with a sign that read, "Enduring Freedom Veterans for Kerry."

Iraq war veteran David Thul called out Walz on his claims, even going to his office to dispute the claims made by Walz.

Thul, at one point, tells the aide, "Operation Enduring Freedom is limited to Afghanistan and the airspace directly above."

His point was that if he was serving in Operation Enduring Freedom, it would not include support troops on bases in Italy that were deployed at the same time.

Thul continued, “Congressman Walz is clearly claiming … to be an Enduring Freedom veteran. Nobody disputes the fact that he is not an Afghanistan or Enduring Freedom veteran. So this represents a fairly serious issue."

Thul filmed the encounter, and posted it on YouTube…

Walz is also now dealing with a blistering post from 2018 by two former battalion sergeants who served with Walz. At the time, they posted, "On May 16th, 2005, [Walz] quit, betraying his country, leaving the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion and its Soldiers hanging; without its senior Non-Commissioned Officer, as the battalion prepared for war.”

Walz claimed that he left the service to make his run for office… very convenient timing.
