Oklahoma Asks Supreme Court to Step In

Same narrative, different parties in charge.

When Trump was in office, he often threatened to withhold federal funding from states that were pushing forward with liberal agendas, and the Democrats lost their minds.

Now they are using the same tactic against red states, and Oklahoma is calling them out.

Give Us Our Money

When Trump was in office, Democrats insisted that withholding federal funding for biased policies was illegal.

Yet, Biden's Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is withholding funds from Oklahoma because the state is not referring pregnant women to abortion counseling services.

So, Oklahoma is now asking the Supreme Court to step in to block the withholding of the funds.

This comes after the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against the state and allowed HHS to hold back on the funding unless the state caves.

Unfortunately, that is the way our judiciary works now… if the court has a left or right majority, you can predict the outcome of the case more often than not on ideology alone.

When the state lost the funding, it was stripped of about $4.5 million in funding, funding which had been allocated to low-income recipients for reproductive health care services.

When Biden changed the rules for Title X programs, it required “neutral, factual information and nondirective counseling” about all their options, including abortion, followed by facts about where the service could be obtained.

The emergency appeal is now on Justice Gorsuch's desk, so we can expect it to be granted.

I would then expect the court to rule in favor of Oklahoma because, as noted above, partisan political agendas cannot be tied to federal funding.

And since abortion now lies with the state, it is a partisan issue when the White House stipulates funding be attached to abortion options.
