Multiple Hearings Scheduled This Week on Trump Assassination

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has a long week ahead of her.

She will be appearing before multiple committees on the Hill to discuss the security breakdowns that led to an attempt on Donald Trump’s life.

She can expect to have some hostility tossed her way from both sides.

Just a Horrible Job

As I have stated in previous reports, the security breakdowns started hours before Trump went on and continued through the cover and transport move to remove Trump from the area.

The shooter was spotted about three hours before Trump ever took the stage, flew a drone over the site, had his picture taken by agents, was spotted by members of the crowd, and that is just before the shot.

Agents tagged the shooter as a legitimate “threat” about 15 minutes before Trump went on stage, which should have either canceled the rally or delayed Trump going on until the threat could be apprehended or eliminated.

Cheatle will answer questions about all of that, as well as the horrific cover and transport maneuver that was about as bad as it gets.

The idea behind the maneuver is to have Trump fully covered the entire time, yet Trump was open to attack on the stage as well as the entire time he was moved to his vehicle.

From what I saw, there were one, maybe two agents on Trump’s detail that actually did their jobs correctly (I am only speaking about the agents in suits assigned to Trump, not the SWAT, Sniper, of Counter-Strike teams working that day).

This is one area where both Democrats and Republicans are in agreement, as was noted in a letter sent by Reps. Comer (R-KY) and Raskin (D-MD) demanding Cheatle speak before Congress.

In part, the letter stated, "Americans have many serious questions about the historic security failures that occurred at the campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

"Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle must appear before the House Oversight Committee without delay on Monday, July 22 to answer our many questions and provide the transparency and accountability that Americans deserve and that are at the foundation of our government.”

After this week, I would expect the calls for Cheatle’s resignation will only grow louder.

Realistically, resigning should not even be an option because Joe Biden should have already fired her, but as we know, and as Trump pointed out during the debate, Biden does not fire anyone, regardless of how bad they are at their job.
