Second Trump Rally Shooting Victim Fighting for His Life
We know one Trump rally attendee has already lost his life, and we are hoping and praying there will not be a second.
Jim Copenhaver, 74, is one of the other two shooting victims who were in attendance.
According to his family, he is now fighting for his life.
Hang In There
Copenhaver’s family stated that he has sustained “life-altering injuries,” but not much more on exactly the challenges he is facing.
While he is stable, the family stated that Copenhaver is fighting for his life.
The statement read, "The Copenhaver family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support for James ‘Jim’ as he recovers from the injuries that he tragically sustained during President Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024.
"Jim would like to especially thank the first responders, medics, and hospital staff who have provided him with initial and continuing care.
“Additionally, Jim would like to express his thoughts and prayers for the other victims, their families, and President Trump. He prays for a safe and speedy recovery for them all."
Corey Comperatore, 50, lost his life during the shooting.
The third shooting victim is 57-year-old David Dutch of New Kensington, Pennsylvania.
Dutch was reportedly hit twice by bullets fired from the would-be assassin.
While the FBI has gotten some leads in the investigation, the motive for the shooting has yet to be discovered.
To this point, the FBI has recovered and entered the shooter’s phone as well as having confiscated other electronics.
The shooter’s parents have also been cooperating with authorities.
The DHS Inspector has also announced that an investigation will be launched by its office.
Anyone with any information regarding the shooting has been asked to send their tips to FBI.gov/butler or call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
