Secret Service Director Refusing to Buckle to Calls for Resignation

There is no way anyone with a gun should be able to get within a mile of a former or current president, let alone within 200 yards.

Yet, somehow, Donald Trump’s would-be assassin not only got that close, he did it on an exposed rooftop and managed to get a shot off.

That should have been it for the Director of Secret Service, but she is defiantly staying on her post and pointing fingers at others.

Buck Stops Here

When the first report came out, the Secret Service pointed fault in the direction of the local PD, saying they were responsible for that building.

While that may have been the case, the overall plan still lies with the Secret Service, which dictates every aspect of presidential protection.

When there was outrage over Director Cheatle’s response, she backtracked a bit, but she is still refusing to step down.

Cheatle was trying to do damage control this week, telling ABC News, “What I would say is, the Secret Service is responsible for the protection of the former President.”

When asked, “So, the buck stops with you,” Cheatle answered, “The buck stops with me, I am the Director of the Secret Service. It was unacceptable, and it’s something that shouldn’t happen again.”

She was later asked if she planned on staying on as Director, and she responded, “I do plan to stay on.”

Remember during the debate when Donald Trump asked Biden why he doesn’t fire people? Well, this is a perfect example of someone that should be fired.

The moment that shot was taken, Cheatle, who is more interested in diversification than quality agents, should have been terminated on the spot.

There is simply no excuse, zero, that would be acceptable for allowing a potential assassin that close to a former president and current presidential candidate.

If Trump had not turned his head, he would have been shot dead, and that is on Cheatle.

This is not a learn-on-the-job position. You can either do the job or you cannot, and Cheatle clearly cannot.
