Jack Smith urges Judge Aileen Cannon to ignore Clarence Thomas

Jack Smith is the man America's liberals have tasked with destroying the presidential chances of Donald J. Trump, but he's not doing a very good job so far.

The special counsel just received a brutal blow from Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in his pursuit of Trump.

Not only has the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Trump enjoys substantial legal protections for "official" acts committed while president, Justice Clarence Thomas has officially gone on record in a concurring opinion, saying that Smith's appointment to handle the case may have been illegal.

The issue was deemed so serious that Judge Aileen Cannon granted a delay in the case while she decides what to make of Thomas' assertion that Smith shouldn't be allowed to pursue the case.

Of course, liberals were FURIOUS about the development. Those on the left have become so used to getting whatever they want along the way in their pursuit of Trump that they've forgotten how to deal with a judge who calls things down the middle.

Judge Arthur Engoron and Judge Juan Merchan really spoiled the left during Trump's New York trials. Despite flimsy evidence and witnesses who clearly weren't trustworthy, the fact that the trial was held in the liberal hot bed of New York meant that the judges could mold the cases to fit the prosecution's needs, resulting in a liability finding as well as guilty verdicts.

That strategy isn't working nearly as well in Florida, where Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon is overseeing the documents case.

Smith is getting so desperate that he and his team are simply begging Cannon to ignore the Supreme Court and get on with the case.

Now that Donald Trump has survived a gunshot wound and defiantly won over the crowd, it's looking like he might be able to win the presidency and make many of his legal problems go away. If Smith's going to get Donald Trump, it would probably have to be before Election Day 2024.

Unfortunately for Smith, any time Cannon takes to examine the facts of this case represents precious seconds ticking away.

As a result, Smith simply wants Cannon to ignore due process.

"That single-Justice concurrence...neither binds this Court nor provides a sound basis to deviate from the uniform conclusion of all courts to have considered the issue that the Attorney General is statutorily authorized to appoint a Special Counsel," Smith's office wrote to Cannon.

What do you think about this story? Will Jack Smith get his case moving in time, or is he already too late?
