Most prominent Democrats in Michigan skip Biden's Detroit rally

Joe Biden may have had an absolutely DISASTROUS debate performance in June 2024, but he is not letting that dissuade him from running in America's 2024 presidential election.

That appears to be the case even if other liberals in America aren't keen to support him.

Biden recently held a rally in Detroit that was supposed to be the start of his amazing comeback, but there was at least one major problem with the event.

The most prominent Democrats in Michigan couldn't be bothered to attend, despite Biden's team trying to give the impression that this was a can't-miss affair.

The morning of the rally, Breitbart reported that "Three of the most relevant and prominent Democrat politicians in Michigan -- Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Sen. Gary Peters, and U.S. Senate candidate Rep. Elissa Slotkin -- will reportedly not be at embattled President Joe Biden’s rally in Detroit, Michigan Friday."

They were citing a report from the Associated Press which said:

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who is co-chair of Biden’s campaign, will be out of the state. Sen. Gary Peters, a steadfast supporter of Biden, and Rep. Elissa Slotkin, who is vying for Michigan’s open Senate seat, will also be absent from the event.

Some are speculating that Whitmer doesn't want to throw too much public support behind Biden because she might be on the shortlist for possible Democrat replacements.

Speculation was ramped up even further when she publicly claimed "it wouldn't hurt" for Biden to take a cognitive test amid concerns that he's no longer mentally fit to be America's leader.

Whitmer hasn't necessarily endorsed Biden, but she has said that it's his decision about whether Joe should step down before the election of not.

"We have a field, and unless one person, Joe Biden, makes an alternative decision, this is the field, and we’ve got to go," Whitmer said.

Do you think that it would be better or worse for America if Whitmer were to replace Joe Biden as their party's nominee? Should she have been at the rally either way?
