Senator Vance Obliterates Media on Trump’s Lawfare

We are now in the home stretch for Donald Trump to pick his VP.

One of the favorites to get the nod is Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio.

Vance is playing the game, too, crushing the media on the narrative that Joe Biden had nothing to do with the weaponization of the DOJ against Donald Trump.

Bogus Prosecutions

Vance was on NBC this week with host Kristen Welker.

Welker was trying to justify the fact that a former DNC consultant and member of Biden’s DOJ joined Bragg’s office, then pushed for the prosecution of Donald Trump.

NBC News’ Kristen Welker acted as though all this was normal, but Vance pushed back, telling her, “Well, Kristen, first of all, you said that it ‘happens all the time’ that the number three person in the Department of Justice jumps ship to join a local prosecutor’s office to go after the president’s political opponent?

“I don’t think that’s ever happened in the history of American democracy and I don’t think that we should legitimize it.”

Welker then tried to say that Biden had no role in a special counsel being appointed.

He responded, “So the idea that the Biden administration has nothing to do with the appointment of the special prosecutor, I think, completely betrays an understanding— a misunderstanding of how our system of government actually works.

“Of course, Kristen, we have to make this point, Kristen, that the prosecution of Donald Trump in New York — which I think now [has] fundamentally been thrown in doubt by this immunity case — it was one of the main guys— was a Department of Justice official in the Biden administration who jumped ship to join a local prosecutor’s office to go after Donald Trump.”

Vance even backed up his position, saying that he would feel the same way if Trump sent a Republican operative into a local DA's office to prosecute a Democrat.

He stated, “Now, if Donald Trump’s attorney general had his number two or his number three jump ship to a local prosecutor’s office in Ohio or Wisconsin, and that person then went after Donald Trump’s political opposition, that’s a different conversation.

“All he’s suggesting is that we should investigate credible arguments of wrongdoing. That’s all that Donald Trump is saying.

“That is not a threat to democracy. That’s merely reinforcing our system of law and government.”

I have openly rooted for Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) to be Donald Trump’s VP because I believe he brings the most to the table for Trump in terms of winning votes.

But I have to say, Vance is slowly but surely winning me over.

I still want Scott, but I will not be upset if Vance gets the nod.
