KJP Slip Has GOP Up in Arms

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre created quite an uproar with a slip of the tongue recently.

When asked about the timing of Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg's filing against Donald Trump, KJP started a firestorm.

She replied that the case had been filed according to the “timeline” of the Department of Justice, which immediately drew outrage on the right.

What Timeline?

When you consider the hush-money payments were paid to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal during the 2016 campaign and the DOJ and the Manhattan DA's office initially declined to file, this was a very good question.

Edward Lawrence of Fox Business Network asked, “The president talks about threats to democracy…

“How is it not a threat to democracy when you have a prosecutor from the same political party as the president waiting seven years … to prosecute in an election year a former president who is now an opponent?”

KJP responded, “That’s a question for the Department of Justice on their timeline and how this moves. I can’t answer that for you here.”

The implication was that Biden’s Department of Justice and Merrick Garland had set the timeline for the filings, which is what many of us have already suspected.

KJP later stated that she had misspoken, meaning to say it was Bragg’s timeline.

The Trump campaign pounced, stating, “This wasn’t a misspeak as the White House claims, this was another example of KJP not knowing what the hell is going on, just like her boss, Crooked Joe.”

The timeline continues to be curious, with Judge Merchan ordering the sentencing hearing to be held only days before the Republican National Convention.

If Merchan wants to stick it to Trump, he could sentence Trump to prison or house arrest, ordering the sentence to be immediately enforced, which would remove Trump from the campaign trail.

I guess we are all about to find out just how weaponized the justice system really is against Trump.
