Family of slain actor Johnny Wactor call for justice
It's never easy when a loved one dies.
When the cause of death for that loved one is murder, it makes the situation even more difficult for everyone involved.
That's exactly the situation that the family of slain actor Johnny Wactor is finding themselves in right now.
"It’s just been a lot of anger, sadness, and empty numbness too," Johnny Wactor's brother has said following the actor's death.
Johnny Wactor was one of the stars of General Hospital before his death, which occurred during the early hours of May 25.
At age 37, Johnny Wactor was shot dead in Downtown Los Angeles.
His death has hit his fans and the rest of the community so hard that there have actually been protests in Los Angeles demanding justice for his death.
"They will be caught. They will be found. They will be tried. We’re going to be here for that," Johnny's brother Grant Wactor recently explained on Today.
"It just doesn’t feel real yet. For me personally, it’s just been a lot of anger, sadness and empty numbness too."
Despite his status on a hit television show, Johnny Wactor supplemented his income by working at Level 8, which describes itself as a "restaurant, lounge, and nightlife destination in Downtown Los Angeles."
After finishing his shift, Wactor reportedly found three thieves trying to steal parts from his car.
The three thieves then killed him right in front of his co-worker Anita Joy who was by his side when he died.
Bryan Barkely, a security guard at the club, reportedly saw what happened and tried to perform CPR on the actor after witnessing the scene.
"I gave him a hug and I told him thank you for just being there for him," Grant Wactor said of Bryan Barkley's attempt to save Johnny's life.
