Republicans attacking criminal justice system even after Biden conviction

The big news of the summer used to be Donald Trump's guilty verdict in New York, but what's popular in America has switched since then.

The new hot topic in terms of criminal news is no longer Donald Trump. It's switched to focusing on the verdict recently given to Hunter Biden.

The president's son going through his own felony trial shortly after Donald Trump's has created one of the most interesting dynamics in American history, with neither side being 100% sure how to proceed.

If Republicans give too much legitimacy to America's legal system by celebrating Hunter Biden being convicted, they're going to look like hypocrites when they try to say that Trump's felonies should be ignored.

Democrats are also in a sticky spot, because if they attack the justice system in order to make it look like Hunter Biden was unfairly convicted, then what is that saying about the decision to fully support Donald Trump's conviction?

Both sides have had to get creative to remain slinging mud at their opponents while also propping up their own side.

The approach that Republicans and Donald Trump are taking is to say that America's legal system treated the two cases differently, sticking to the idea that Hunter Biden deserves punishment while Trump does not.

America's GOP has been arguing that the Department of Justice has been corrupt for a while now. Their claims look a little less solid after prominent liberal Hunter Biden was also found guilty of felonies.

Republicans in Congress have repeatedly come to Trump's aid, contesting that defendants were treated differently in each trial.

To explain how Trump is innocent while the jury should be trusted in the Biden case, Republicans are accusing the Biden-led Justice Department of treating Hunter Biden with kid gloves compared to prosecuting Trump to the furthest extent of the law.

What do you think?

Despite Hunter Biden's criminal conviction, do Republicans still have a case when they say that our justice system is unfairly targeting Republicans?
