Judge Cannon strikes paragraph from Trump's classified documents case
It wasn't a total win for Donald Trump, but he did at least receive a silver lining of good news when Judge Aileen Cannon rejected his attempt to have his Florida case dismissed, which is something Trump was not used to getting up north in New York.
The silver lining:
While Aileen Cannon wouldn't throw the whole case out, she did get rid of one paragraph in the indictment that didn't make Trump look very good, so Donald at least has something to be happy about.
TheHill.com is reporting that "Aileen Cannon struck from the Mar-a-Lago indictment a paragraph referencing former President Trump’s use of one of the classified documents found at his Florida home, slightly narrowing the case against him while otherwise denying his efforts to toss the case."
The paragraph that Jack Smith initially included in the indictment but was thrown out by Cannon included allegations that Donald "Trump showed a classified map to a staffer of his PAC, acknowledging that 'he should not be showing the map' and telling the employee not to get too close."
Sure, the whole case might not have gone away, but Donald's surely relieved that bit of information has been stricken from the record.
If that passage would have been included, it would have portrayed Donald exactly like liberals want America to see him: as somebody who cares more about his own personal gain than he does the safety of this country.
There might be a little truth to that, politicians in 2024 are very rarely noble people with no skeletons in their closet, but to indicate that Donald Trump is any worse than the average Democrat politician out there is simply laughable.
