Thousands expected to protest Trump inauguration in Washington

According to recent reports, protest organizers are expecting nearly 50,000 people to gather to protest the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

One thing is certain -- when America's Secret Service found out about the upcoming protest, officials surely took extra steps to prepare.

After Trump survived multiple assassination attempts while campaigning, the security surrounding the protection of Donald Trump should be at an all-time high!

Thankfully, the protestors are actually a much smaller number than the number of those protesting Trump’s first inauguration.

Back in 2017, the number grew to a whopping 500,000.

According to The Hill, experts have indicated that the planned protest is simply “to keep voters engaged” rather than to express the feelings they have toward Donald Trump’s victory.

The People’s March will start off at various locations throughout the city and eventually all meet up at the Lincoln Memorial.

One of the members responsible for helping plan the People’s March goes by the name of Tamika Middleton.

Middleton, who is also the managing director of the Women’s March, gave a statement to The Hill on the upcoming protest.

“A lot of things are different. Our work as organizations this time around has been not to capture the energy of all these people who are being activated, but this time actually, our work has been to keep people from being demobilized, to keep people engaged and to give people something to hope for,” Middleton said.

There are other protests expected to form that day, including a protest organized by Reverend Al Sharpton.

According to Axios news, Sharpton, who is the founder and president of the National Action Network, expects to have about 15,000 people at his protest.

Do you think security will be able to keep Donald Trump safe from any potential threats that may occur on Inauguration Day?
