4 dead in Hampton, GA shooting

[UPDATE]Henry County Sheriff Reginald B. Scandrett stated that officers were able to track the suspect to Highway 138 and Mt. Zion Parkway where there was an exchange of gunfire. He said Longmore then ran. A short-time later authorities engaged the suspect again, and it was during this exchange of gunfire that Longmore was shot and killed.

A shooting in Hampton Georgia left four people dead over the weekend.

Police Chief James Turner confirmed that four people perished in the event.

Hampton is a city in Georgia, situated roughly 35 miles south of Atlanta. The shooting happened around 10:45 a.m. in a residential neighborhood. There is currently no known motive for the shooting.

Four arrest warrants were issued for the suspect, identified as Andre Longmore.

Shooter On The Loose

Longmore, 40, is a Hampton resident. It has not been reported if Longmore was personally connected to any of the victims, who have not yet been publicly identified.

"Turner explained during the press conference that there are 'at least four crime scenes,' and law enforcement personnel are still searching for Longmore, who was last seen driving a black GMC Acadia SUV — a car that the police chief said did not belong to the suspect," The Hill reported.

The investigation is being led by the Hampton Police Department and the Henry County Police Department is assisting in the investigation as well as Henry County Sheriff's Department, Henry County Homeland Security, and Henry County Crime Scene Unit.

"We will hunt you down in any hole that you may be residing in and bring you into custody," Henry County Sheriff Reginald B. Scandrett said.

"A $10,000 dollar reward is also being offered for information that results in the arrest and prosecution of the suspect," according to the sheriff.

Hampton mayor, Ann Tarpley, called the shooting "a tragedy."

"We ask that you lift up the families and victims in your prayers and your thoughts and you give them the privacy they need," Tarpley said.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
