Another round of 2024 polls has been released, and it is not good for Donald Trump.
The former president is taking a beating in polling not only in a heads-up battle against DeSantis, but now he is also getting beaten by Joe Biden.
DeSantis, who was barely ahead of Trump during the last set of polls, has now taken a commanding, 22-point lead against the former president.
Taking a Beating
Remember, polling is about trends, and these trends have now held true through numerous polling cycles.
Trump has been sliding back against both DeSantis and Joe Biden, while DeSantis has been going in the complete opposite direction.
If you recall, during the last polling, DeSantis was a few points behind Joe Biden, but I stated that would change once he officially gets in the race. It has not even taken that long.
DeSantis is crushing Trump for the GOP nomination, 56-33 percent.
Joe Biden is now leading Trump by a comfortable margin at 47.3-39.5 percent. This race has always been close, even at the worst moments of Biden’s presidency, which has always been my primary concern.
The fact that Trump was only leading Biden by a point or two was a strong warning sign that Trump has failed to lure in the voters that he lost in 2020.
DeSantis has now surged ahead of Joe Biden, leading him 46.6-42.7 percent.
The question still remains if Joe Biden will run. He seems to be leaning toward that, but he is only polling at 40 percent for those that want him to seek a second term. That is down from 45 percent during the last poll.
The survey was the Suffolk University/USA Today poll and it was taken from December 7-11.
As I have said before, this election is far too important to risk losing, and a loss would clearly be on the table if Trump gets the nomination.
We know he watches these polls, and it is a fairly safe assumption that he will dismiss them all as fake news, but conservatives have to be honest about whether they believe he can win this election. My belief is that he cannot and that he should back off and allow DeSantis to take the lead, throwing his full support behind DeSantis’ campaign.
