Schumer Gets Mayorkas Charges Dismissed Without Trial

This week, the House finally sent the impeachment papers over to the Senate for Secretary Mayorkas’ impeachment.

While none of us realistically expected Mayorkas to be impeached, we surely wanted the American people to see just how rogue he had gone before Democrats voted down the impeachment.

Well, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) made sure the American people never heard a word.

Case Dismissed

Just as many Republicans in the Senate expected would happen, Schumer allowed the charges to be dismissed on a procedural vote right out of the gate.

As soon as the session started, Schumer moved to dismiss the first charge saying that it was unconstitutional.

The vote came down along party lines, with Senator Murkowski (R-AK) only voting present, so that charge was dismissed.

Schumer then did the same thing for the second charge, which the motion passed 51-49, right along party lines.

In less than three hours, Schumer dismissed the case, and business was done for the day, outraging many Republicans who had demanded a trial after the House impeached Mayorkas.

Minority Senate Leader McConnell (R-KY), stated, “It’s not a proud day in the history of the Senate,” adding that is sent a very “unfortunate precedent” for the Senate.

I continue to go back to when Republicans held the Senate and conducted the Trump impeachment hearings even though we all knew there was no way Trump was going to be impeached.

Senator John Tester (D-MT), who has been waffling on this because of a tight Senate race, voted against the impeachment, stating that it would not make the border any safer, which literally makes no sense.

He stated, “What’s happening at our southern border is completely unacceptable, and the Biden administration must do more to keep Montana and our country safe.

“I agree with my Republican colleagues who have said this exercise is a distraction that fails to make our country safer. It’s time for President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas to use their remaining executive authorities to help secure our border.”

Mayorkas is the primary architect behind Biden’s rogue border plan to blatantly ignore our immigration laws and open the border to all comers.

At the very least, removing him via impeachment would have sent a strong message to the next DHS Secretary, but now we will never know.

Now, just go back to Trump and think of how the media would have reacted to the GOP dismissing the charges before a trial could take place.

Our government continues to prove it is a complete and utter joke, that is far more about getting rich, writing books, and becoming a social media star than it is about governing this country for the good and will of We the People.
