Google lifts suspension on PragerU app

PragerU has long been one of the favorite information sources for conservatives in America, but those behind it recently came up against some obstacles with which liberal businesses in the same sphere rarely have to deal.

Google suspended the PragerU app from its app store.

Google contacted PragerU to inform the developers of the app that it was being removed from the store because a review had found "content or speech asserting that a protected group is inhuman, inferior or worthy of being hated."

People looking for the app were unable to find it on Google's platform.

PragerU said that it took a "re-review" before Google agreed to put the app back on their store.

"In an email from Google, they said our recently removed app is now available ‘after further re-review,'" PragerU wrote on social media. "Thank you to all of our amazing supporters who helped publicize this issue to force Google to reverse their earlier decision to remove our app from the store entirely."

Despite initially providing "justification" for why the app was being blocked, Google has apparently reversed their stance on that. They recently came out and said that the app should have never been removed from the store, stating that it was "made in error."

PragerU founder Dennis Prager has been at war with Google for quite some time, suing the company back in 2017 for prioritizing liberal videos over those from PragerU.

While Prager eventually lost that lawsuit, the fighting spirit remained intact.

Perhaps that's why the app was able to be reinstated so quickly, Google knew that Prager and his team were not going to take unjust censorship lying down.

Do you think Google banned this app accidentally? Or is the company just trying to cover itself after getting caught deleting an app that tells the truth?
