DOJ official asked to appear before Congress regarding Jack Smith

Special Counsel Jack Smith is FINISHED after the latest House GOP order!

The GOP House Judiciary Committee has requested that the Department of Justice appear before Congress to dive into allegations against Smith.

Smith’s office has been accused of several ethical violations that, if shown to be true, will NOT be a good look for the special counsel.

Now, the DOJ's Office of Professional Responsibility has received a letter from Judiciary Committee chair Jim Jordan.

Jordan wrote in the letter that the DOJ as “declined to provide any substantive information or any meaningful to give the Committee confidence” that the DOJ’s Office of Professional Responsibility is actually following the standards they have set.

Yikes!

Good for Jordan for calling out a double-standard when he sees one.

Besides, Smith has been unhinged for literal years at this point and NEEDS to be held accountable.

The DOJ should not be allowed to pick and choose to whom the rules apply and to whom they do not.

We KNOW the DOJ surely would say each and every rule they would be applied to former President Donald Trump!

Enough with the double standards!

Attorney General Merrick Garland, however, seems more infatuated with the idea of defending his employees than ensuring they are doing their jobs ethically.

Garland has recently been riled up about Republican unhappiness about three DOJ officials and recently complained in a statement about their ire.

“There has been an escalation of attacks on the Justice Department’s career lawyers, agents, and other personnel that go far beyond scrutiny, criticism, and legitimate and necessary oversight of our work. These attacks have come in the form of conspiracy theories, dangerous falsehoods, efforts to bully and intimidate career public servants by repeatedly and publicly singling them out, and threats of actual violence,” Garland said.

While no response has been given to Jordan’s letter, based on the manner in which Garland is already whining, it is not hard to assume the DOJ will not be happy!
