All Eyes on Supreme Court Presidential Immunity Decision After Trump's New York Conviction

With Trump's hush-money trial ending in a conviction, all eyes have turned to the Supreme Court and its decision on presidential immunity.

While Trump's conviction is subject to a long appeals process, it is possible that it won't be resolved until after the election. This means that the most significant legal decision left that could impact November's election is the Supreme Court's presidential immunity decision, which could massively boost Trump, as The Hill notes.

Trump cited presidential immunity in response to his election interference indictment from special counsel Jack Smith.

That case was supposed to begin in March, but the Supreme Court agreed to hear Trump's claim which has put Smith's trial on indefinite hold until the Supreme Court comes to a decision.

Unless the Supreme Court comes to a decision soon, Smith's trial may be pushed until after November's election, and that has the left panicking and throwing accusations of the Supreme Court improperly favoring Trump.

Everything riding on Smith

Even with Trump's conviction in New York, all that happened was a massive surge in support for Trump, as outraged Americans receivedd undeniable proof that Democrats have weaponized the justice system.

Democrats hope that getting Trump convicted in another trial will help President Joe Biden, as he has been slipping behind the former president or tying in traditionally Democrat states.

At the current pace, there is little chance of Trump standing trial until 2025. By then Trump could be serving his second term as president, which would give him sweeping powers to dismiss Smith and effectively shut down the federal cases against him.

All of this is a nightmare scenario for Democrats who are doing everything they can to stop Trump going into November's election.

Attacks on the Supreme Court have ramped up in recent months with multiple campaigns to get conservative justices to recuse themselves from cases involving Donald Trump.

So far, those attacks have failed. but the Democrat Party is still encouraging rhetoric that attacks the high court's legitimacy, as they know that the justices could unravel all their hard work with one key decision in favor of Trump.

Trump's biggest contribution

Trump's biggest contribution to the conservative movement has always been his Supreme Court appointments, which went on to overturn Roe v. Wade and may now singlehandedly stop the weaponized justice system.

If the Supreme Court was majority liberal, it is hard to imagine that Trump would have much of a chance at winning any of his legal battles.

However, until a decision is made, Trump's trial is on hold, and the attacks on the Supreme Court will continue as the Democrat Party gets increasingly desperate.
